Born in Sacramento, CA, passed away in Phoenix, Arizona. Preceded in death by his parents Bill Franklin Sr. and Ethel Proctor, his daughter Donna Lee Franklin, sister Ramona Ramirez (7/1/18), and brothers David Sr., William Jr., Freidman, Daniel Sr., Jerry Sr., and James. Steve was the last of seven brothers to pass into the spirit world. Steve had a friendly smile. Steve was proud of his Assisiboine Sioux and Miwuk Heritage. He is survived by wife of 34 years, Dee Franklin, his daughters, Sharon Franklin-Acuna, Kimberly Franklin, and son Stephen Franklin Jr., all of Sacramento and 15 grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Leota Bryan, Marjorie Franklin, Clarice Moreno, Audrey French, Sally Rodriguez, Terisa (Dennis) Yonemura, Margaret Franklin, and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of life will be held on August 11, 2018 at the Wilton Tribal Hall, 9728 Kent St., Elk Grove, CA 95624 from 4pm-7pm.
