Ted Carlson - Local artist and business leader in real estate peacefully passed away in Citrus Heights. Theodore Richard Carlson, Jr. ("Ted Carlson") passed on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, at the age of 79 with his loving daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter present. Ted was born October 8, 1938 in Marfa, Texas in Presidio County. He was the oldest son of Theodore Richard Carlson, Sr. and Agnes Lee Deason. He graduated in 1957 from C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, CA. and a graduate of Sacramento State Collage. Ted was honorably discharged from his service in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He was married to Sandra Lee Kershaw May 4, 1963 to 1976. Siblings preceded in death: Robert Bruce Carlson, Michael Rainer Carlson, Bibiana Lee Gallagher. Survived by his brother Russell Haynes; daughters: Kathleen Lorraine Tibbets, Victoria Lee Conley; grandchildren: Andrew Hope and Ashley Elizabeth Tibbets; and son-in-laws: Bryan Tibbets and Lee Conley. He lived in Monterey for 7 years and was a resident of the Sacramento area for over 62 years where he was finally laid to rest. He leaves behind many friends that loved him and will miss him. There will be a celebration of his life at the El Tapatio restaurant on Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights Saturday, October 6th 2018 at 4:00 PM. Some of his famous art pieces will be shown at the celebration.
