Born in Chicago, moved to Los Angeles at age 5. He lived in a multigeneration household with cousins near his age. He graduated Rosemead High School and joined the U. S. Air Force. He was discharged July 4, 1957. He loved celebrating July 4th! Unsure of his life's direction he attended various colleges including San Francisco Art Institute, He enjoyed being part of the Beatnik coffee house scene in San Francisco, He married Diane in 1959. Moved to Missoula, MT for his first TV job at KGVO. Back to Sacramento, worked for KCRA (Channel 3) eleven years, owned a camera store, Talking Picture Co. Joined KMAX (Channel 31) retiring after 25 years. Father to 3 daughters, Valerie, Johanna, and Monica. Married Bettie McCullough in 1987, adding stepchildren, Todd and Julia to his family. 3 grandchildren, Jamie, Sean and Adrian, and 5 great grandchildren, Caleb, Evan, Madison, Thea and Joshua. He lived life fully. Interests included Trains, Boats, Airplanes, Art, Photography, Electronics, and Sports, especially Giants baseball! He was a member of Mensa, the Del Norte Swim Club and a grateful friend of Bill W. for 52 years. He loved his family and friends and was loved in return. A memorial service and potluck will be held at Sunset No-AI Club, 5809 Gibbons Dr., Carmichael at 6 pm, Monday, August 20, 2018.
