Karen Ammons

Karen Ammons passed peace-fully into eternal life after the challenges of her illness October 2018. Born in southern California to James and Glenna Sligar, the family moved to northern California shortly after Karen's birth. She graduated from Luther Burbank High School and American River College. She loved being a stay-at-home Mom and was excellent at it as can be attested to by her children and husband. After raising the children, she enjoyed working at the CA State Data Center in the Accounting Unit. After retirement, she enjoyed the grandkids and playing golf with her husband and the many golfing friends she made at Wildhawk, Haggin Oaks, and Carmichael Golf Club. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Erick; daughters, Stephanie Mata (Raul) and Erika Gasaway (Patrick); and son, Michael Boyer (Kristie); and grandchildren, Daniel, Monica, Alexander, and Kasey; and her sister, Reba. Celebration of Life will be Oct. 26 at Haggin Oaks Pavilion 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to GIST Cancer Research Fund (gistinfo.org) or Wellness Within (wellnesswithin.org).
