Robert Bryant Obituary

BRYANT, Robert Geibert
Apr. 20, 1938 - Aug. 6, 2009
Bob Bryant was an artist and graphic designer who created corporate identities, taught his children to play softball, dressed as Santa, walked on the beach, and at one time, hand dug a swimming pool for his brother disabled with polio. His eye for design and color defined his home and clothes, in addition to his career. He grew up in Dumont, N.J., and graduated from the Phoenix School of Design and Pratt Institute. He worked for the American Museum of Natural History, Xerox Corporation, Learning Magazine, and was the principal of RGB Design in San Jose before retiring to the Sacramento area. His family and faith were the anchors of his life. His family includes life partner Coleen Saylor, sister Bonnie Bryant, brother Gary Bryant (deceased), children Deidre Bryant, Audrey Castro, and Keith Bryant, and beloved grandchildren Steven Hansen, Justin and Devin Castro, and Ashley and Brendon Bryant. Extended family grandchildren include Jordan, Shane and Sydney Saylor, Jessica and Jake Barger, and Allie and Carly Houck. Services were conducted on August 19 at the Foothill United Methodist Church, Rescue, Calif. by his long time friend, Rev. Eric Walbolt, Champlin, Minn., the father of Bob's godson, Eli. Donations can be made to the S.F. Museum of Modern Art, Heifer International, or the SPCA.
