Born August 18th, 1928 to Dr. Paul and Jeannette Gamble in Albert Lea, MN, passed peace-fully in his home on August 4th, 2016, surrounded by family. Dr. Gamble married Joanne Klobe of Glencoe, MN in 1954 and graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical Program in 1955. He came to California to serve in the Navy, and worked for University of California, San Francisco during the 1960's. He was a respected renal pathologist at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, CA until retirement in 1993. Chuck was a selfless giver, always the first to help, encourage, and support those around him. He and Joanne were married 62 years and traveled the world many times over, but his fondest memories were made in a small yellow cabin built by his father and uncles on Sugar Lake, MN. Chuck was an avid reader and traveler, loved bird hunting with friends and fishing with family. He was a student of life who inspired us all by his example. He was a kind, gentle man who fiercely loved his kin. His memory survives in his wife, Joanne, their children, Paul, Nancy, and John, five grand-children, great-grandson, and his sister Joey, as well as many other loving family members. Chuck lived for 88 rich, wonderful years. We find peace in knowing he will be forever with us, within us, always. A Memorial Service will be held at Town & Country Lutheran Church, Sacramento on September 10 at 1:00 p.m.
