Patricia Lee Nichol passed away in late May 2018 surrounded by family and close friends. She was born in Brush, Colorado and left Colorado to join the Peace Corps, serving in the Philippines. A world traveler and Sacramento resident for over 50 years, Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. A gifted writer of all genres, Pat authored many manuscripts and numerous poems. She also touched the lives of many, many children through her years of work as a public school library and classroom teacher. Pat had more than a modicum of courage and perseverance, striving to live her life after her favorite Churchill quote, "Never, never, never give up." Even as she slowed down from pain and illness towards the end of her life, Pat outlived her prognosis and spent her time attending classes, writing poetry, doing art, and going for outings with friends. Pat was a person of great kindness and generosity; she had a quiet smile, modest dignity, and real integrity. She will be truly and deeply missed by many. A memorial is to be held at the Sacramento Poetry Center on July 1, 2018 at 2pm, 1719 25th St., Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to or the Sacramento Poetry Center. www.sacramentopoetrycenter. com/membershipdonations /donate/
