Donna Preston Obituary

Donna Lynn Preston
December 23, 1964 - December 12, 2020
Orangevale, California - Donna was born in Brooklyn New York on December 23, 1964. She left earthly life a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt at the young age of 55.
Full of life and love from the moment of birth to her early passing, Donna was a true force of nature. With a heart as big as a mountain she displayed a generosity to others that is an example for all. Her brilliant humanity shone through all of her actions and made everyone she touched feel special. She donated her time, money, boundless talent and energy to the schools her children attended, Golden Valley Charter School and Casa Roble High School, as well as to her own students at the Sac Joaquin Valley Community College. Donna served the college officially as school librarian however she contributed so much more to the success of the students there. She created a student-friendly library, tutored them in math and writing skills, and coordinated multiple community events as well as all of their graduation ceremonies.
Donna Lynn possessed many artistic talents. She created many beautiful gardens in all types of spaces around her family's home. As a mother of children in a Waldorf school she worked every year on creating her sons' annual class plays. She crafted stage sets, costumes, lighting, effects and script direction much to the delight of the children and their parents. She wrote wonderful short stories, one of which she turned into a film script for A Place Called Sacramento film festival. The resulting movie, Win, Lose or Draw was voted audience favorite and writer's favorite at the 2015 festival in downtown Sacramento. Donna also used her creative eye in photography, painting and metal artistry. Her home is a quaint expression of these many artistic talents.
Donna Lynn is survived by her soul-mate and husband Scott Preston, their three beautiful children, Max, Ben and Jack, her parents Robert Bobnick and Katherine Winrock and her siblings Lisa Ferguson, Robert John Bobnick and Kathy Braun.
Donna will forever be lovingly thought of by everyone she knew as the generous soul she is and will bring into her angelic life.
As she loved her gardens and flowers a memorial service will be appropriately held in the Spring on May 1st.
