David Grainger Obituary

GRAINGER, David E. of Frankenmuth, Michigan. David Earl Grainger, age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. Dave was born to Clinton and Helen (Barnett) Grainger on May 30, 1938. He married Annabelle DeSalliers on October 4, 1975 at the Bridgeport Community Church, she survives him. Dave was a part of the Frankenmuth News in his early years as a photographer. He attended St. Lorenz School then Frankenmuth High School through the tenth grade and Arthur Hill, graduating in 1956 - the last class from Frankenmuth to graduate at Arthur Hill. He received his bachelor degree (1962) and master's degree (1965) in education at Wayne State University. He served as a Professor of Business at Oakland Community College until his retirement in 2000. Surviving besides his wife are children: Kris Grainger, Millbrook, NY; Chandra Burkhardt (Richard) Delanson, New York; one brother, Steven (Bonnie) Grainger, Frankenmuth, and grandchildren, niece and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. Rev. Walter David will officiate with cremation to follow. Dave's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, James E. Never really knew Dave, but our parents were life long friends. We probably played together as children. So sorry for your loss.

Sad to hear. I worked at the Frankenmuth News in the early 50's and knew Dave then when working for Clinton doing typesetting, press running, etc etc. Sorry to the family for the loss. Jerry Babcock
