SALAMANCA - Donna Marie Crouse, 76, of Seneca Street, Salamanca, passed away Monday (April 19, 2021) at home, with her children at her side.
Donna was born June 24, 1944, in Salamanca, the daughter of the late Floyd and Dorothy Jimerson John.
Growing up in Quaker Ridge, she attended Salamanca High School and was a graduate of Nurses Training School.
She devoted her entire career to nursing, working at WCA Hospital as a certified nurse's aide for 26 years, retiring in 2006.
Donna was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians Deer Clan and Longhouse. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed bead work, quilting, sewing, basket making, soap stone carving and canning.
She is survived by two daughters, Leona P. Lichy and Jessica L. Crouse; and a son, Rory C. Crouse, all of Salamanca; and three grandchildren, Michael Hill, Joshua King and Orion Peckyno. Donna is also survived by four sisters, Phyllis Eileen Bardeau of Steamburg, Deanna John of Salamanca, Karen Baum of Alum Bank, Pa. and Dorothy Confer of Carrollton.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Lionel John, Wilbur John and Marty John; and a sister, Ruth John.
The family will receive family and friends Tuesday (April 20, 2021) and today (April 21, 2021) at the Coldspring Longhouse, Center Road, Steamburg. Her service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday (April 22, 2021) at the Coldspring Longhouse. Burial will follow in the Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg.
