Dear Family we share in your sadness but we know that God is a healer of broken hearts and able and willing to heal our loneliness and abide with us when nothing else works. Essie Mae was a good woman who shared her very being with us all. We will greatly miss her. Please feel free to call any of us if you need us for anything. I was privileged to know Ms. Foxx when I worked at the Dunbar Center. Ms. Foxx was a great community advocate. She taught me much about the history of East Spencer and the Dunbar Center. Her love of family was always evident and I know that she will be greatly missed by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I do not think that anyone will be able to fill her shoes.
