April Elesha Whitley, 33, of Woodleaf passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Born April 5, 1988 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Susie Barbee Whitley and David Whitley of Woodleaf. April was educated in the West Rowan schools, and graduated from West Rowan High School, Class of 2005. She was employed at C's Barbecue, Cleveland, Woodleaf BP and Ryan's Restaurant. April attended Fisher Street Baptist Church, Concord. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carolyn Story Whitley and Paul Whitley. Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her parents are her daughter, Emory Stephens of Cleveland; brothers, D. J. Whitley of China Grove and John Whitley of Woodleaf; and her maternal grandparents, Bonnie Smith Barbee and Frank Barbee of Woodleaf. Arrangements: The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Tuesday, May 25, at Summersett Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Spry, minister of Fisher Street Baptist Church, officiating. Memorial: Memorials may be made to Faithful Friends, 220 Grace Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147.
