Our beloved mother passed away peacefully on the afternoon of June 30, 2002. She was born Christmas day, 1942, to Edison R and Nellie Kershaw. She was the sixth of seven children. She attended Jackson Elementary and graduated from West High School. She married David Clayton and later divorced. She is survived by her three children Chris, Tony and Jennifer; eight grandchildren April, Matt, Ricky, Frank, Andy, AJ, Mackenzie and Morgan; brothers Eddie (Ruth), Garry (De Neice), Larry (Kathy); and sister Deon. Preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers Bill and Gordy; and brother-in-law Jack Goalen. Carol had a special bond with her mother and has missed her greatly since her death. Carol worked in the medical field most of her life and loved to help others. Her warm and compassionate nature put everyone she met at ease. Carol's enthusiasm for life was unparalleled, and made many friends along the way. Special thanks to her friend, Yvette, for all she did for our mom. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South. "A mother is the one who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take." We love and miss you.

Her best gift to us all is the gift of her son Chris. Thank you for sharing Chris with all of us.
