1949 ~ 2017
On June 9th, 2017, we lost our beloved husband, father, and friend. Douglas "Doug" Goff, 67, husband of CareyLyn Carter Goff of San Antonio, genuinely loved and cared for his family, friends, and fellow human beings. Doug will best be remembered as a deeply spiritual and compassionate man with a heart as big as Texas. Doug was kind and generous, loving, always quick to lend a hand, listen, encourage, and serve others in need.
Doug was born on August 19, 1949 to James Eugene Goff and Shirley Chesnut Goff and raised in Midvale, Utah. Growing up in Utah, Doug became a diehard Utah Jazz basketball fan. Even moving to San Antonio and living in Spurs country for many years didn't change that. It made for interesting light-hearted rivalries among his friends who were Spurs fans. He enjoyed watching every Utah Jazz game - and if he missed one, he had it recorded - in his man cave.
Doug was a self-employed businessman from the time he was a boy and has been involved in many successful ventures throughout his life. He also enjoyed singing karaoke and attending a variety of his kids' events, many of them for sports.
He is survived by his wife, CareyLyn Carter-Goff, and their child, Gunnar James Goff; his first wife Virginia "Ginger" Humphrey Goff, and their children: Jason Douglas Goff (Lupe) of Houston, Texas, Kristan Sanchez (Estevan) of Jacksonville, Florida, Shama Kacie Heaps (Isaac) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and James Lewis Goff of Salt Lake City, Utah; his brother, David Goff, and sister, Judith Cook; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends and Family may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Vaughan's Funeral Home, 319 E San Antonio Ave, Boerne, TX. The funeral to celebrate Doug's life will take place on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Vaughan's Funeral Home.

CareyLyn, our condolences go out to the entire Goff family, when I heard the news my heart melted. Doug was such an amazing man, a great father and a wonderful husband. Although I only knew Doug for such a short amount time he had an impact on my life, just as anyone who ever crossed paths with him knew he was an inspiring individual. I am mostly grateful for the positive impact he had on my father. He was one my dad definitely looked up to and never wanted to disappoint. My heart goes out to you and Gunner in this difficult time. God Bless.
Love you always,
Regina, Lynelle & JJ Rich

Our condolences to the entire Goff family. Our hearts are broken for the loss of a beautiful, generous, kindest, loving, most forgiving man we ever met. His radiant smile, his warm and generous heart touched our hearts and souls. Doug would sing "Silver Wings" and now he wears them to embrace us all with his silver wings. Wear them proudly, our silver angel, father, brother and friend. We are so blessed and fortunate to have Doug and his family in our lives. God Bless you Doug. Our never-ending love...

To Carrie Lynn, Gunnar, Doug, Jason, and the entire family and friends. .

I am in such disbelief, I just CAN NOT believe that you had to go Doug. . Doug, Carrie Lynn, Gunnar, and the entire family captured, embraced my spirit, myfamily, friendship, understanding, and love in a way that is so genuine and deep. Doug and Carrie Lynn are the amazing incredible, warm, honest, and most heartwarming couple.

My heart and soul goes out to you Carrie Lynn and Gunnar, I will miss Doug so very much, he and your family inspired me so very much and will continue to do so. I loved and relish all the family times, lunch's, business mettings, dinners, laughter, stories, visions, and times I shared with the Goff family and friends. Doug is such an amazing man, he was like a father figure to me. Nothing but drive, spirt, goodness, understanding, positive energy, genius, and most of all, love for his family and friends. He was the best husband and dad role model I could ever imagine.

Thanks Doug for your wonderful frienship, all the deep talks, advice, laughs, sharing and caring. I miss you so very much. It's so rare to meet and have friends and family as you did.

God Bless you Doug, I we will not forget you.

Big hugs to you Carrie Lynn and Gunnar, I am always here for anything or anyway I might be able to help or be supportive. I love you and your entire family. I am so saddened. . .

Love Frank and Tristan

Hearts are broken at the loss of this sweet, funny, very good friend! You will be missed...but in the words of a song "I know that when God took you back he said Hallelujah...You're home". I'll see you again...someday!!
