Lyle G. Alder

MANTI - Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Lyle Gerald Alder, age 72, died July 5, 2002 at his home in Manti.  He was born Dec. 1, 1929 in Manti, a son of Charles Gerald and Grace Elsie Madsen Alder. He graduated from Manti High School, Class of 1948. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He married Joyce Jensen, June 27, 1952 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a dairy farmer in the Manti area.   He is survived by his wife of Manti; children: Cheryl (Mark) Cox, Moroni; Roger L. (Shelley) Alder, Manti; Glen C. (Kristine) Alder, Logan; Jeannette (Thad) Turpin, Fairview; Douglas G. (Fresia) Alder, Salem, OR; Stephanie Alder, (Deceased); Jennifer (Joshua) Neilson, West Jordan; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister: Louise (Carl) Poulsen, Manti.  He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clair Louis Alder and Afton Lloyd Alder. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 12 Noon in the Manti LDS Tabernacle, 96 South Main Street in Manti, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Manti American Legion Post #31 will be in the Manti City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Salina and Richfield, Utah.
