Robert "Rob" Rowbottom
1950 - 2020
Retired SGM, Pastor, and "Uppa", Robert "Rob" Rowbottom joined his Savior in Heaven early in the morning of September 6, 2020. Rob dedicated his life to service for the Lord, his family, and just about everybody else he met. He lived by the motto, "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet!" He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Due to the current pandemic, memorial services will be streamed live Sunday, September 13, at 4:00 p.m. at https://firstbaptistwvc.org. The family asks that in lieu of flowers or other gifts, please make a donation in his name to the Christian Motorcyclists Association or other charity of your choice. My sincerest condolences to Rob's family. I met Rob years ago when I covered motorcycle rides/rallies for The Salt Lake Tribune and Thunder Press. He was such a wealth of information and introduced me to others who I would pester with questions for my stories. Rob was always at the ready with a hearty bear hug once he spied me - pen and notebook in hand. His love for the Christian Motorcyclists Association was an immense presence in his life. I will miss him, his hugs and his laugh. May his family, friends and "brothers" find peace during this time. With love, Julie DeHerrera

Pastor Rob was a genuine, wonderful and insightful man. I had the privilege to meet him through my husband. We were blessed to have Pastor Rob perform our marriage ceremony. Our prayers go out to his family, those who served and worshipped with him. He managed to touch many in his ministry. Fly now with the angels.

As I think back over the years and the privilege I had to serve with Rob the word that continually comes to mind is "genuine". He was the real article and he wore his heart and his intentions on his sleeve, which was perfect within the ministry he had here on earth. Bikers and veterans alike don't need or want to hear long sermons, they just wanted to see what Rob had in his eyes, "Hope and Love". I am proud to have called him a friend and even prouder to know without a doubt whose feet he kneels at now. I will wear my Road to Freedom shirts proudly this week in memory of not only Rob, but what he stood for as I slip down to Pats BBQ and throw some rolls in his memory. Hugs to Debbie.

Rob was such a great example of not being afraid to live what you believe. I always appreciated how genuine and consistent he was. He was the same guy each time you talked to him. Down to earth, kind, talented, interesting and loving. There are people you cross paths with in life that have a lasting impact, even though you may never tell them. Rob is one of those guys for me. I appreciate all he was about. I appreciate the service he provided for so many and for his Christian witness.
My prayers are with Debbie and his family.
I can only imagine the “Well done good and faithful servant” discussion he is receiving in heaven.
