Thomas Weldon Obituary

Thomas Markus Weldon

July 8, 1968 - October 20, 2020

Salt Lake City, UT—Thomas Markus Weldon, age 52, died October 20, 2020 while doing the things he loved best. He had spent his last months traveling the area around Yellowstone, then went north west into Washington. He then headed towards the coast where his body was found. It was determined that an accidental drowning was the cause of his death. His body has been cremated and the ashes will be returned to the mountains he loved.

Thomas was born in Salt Lake City Utah, on July 8, 1968, he was the son of Leon Earl Weldon and Erna Moesching Weldon. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1986, where he enjoyed playing football and sharing jokes and laughs with his teammates and friends. He joined the Marines Corp. in 1989. He proudly served his country as Lance Cpl., with the 3rd Support Battalion, deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and later served in Desert Storm, Kuait. He was honorably discharged after his service.

Tom enjoyed being one with nature. He loved animals and was involved in Animal Rescue Groups, enjoyed hiking, camping, writing poetry, and basically anything that was outdoors. He was adept at photographing nature as a hobby, and sold some of his work.

He leaves behind his wife Susan Renski Weldon (married 6/26/93), her son Dominic Renski, and his mother Erna Moesching Weldon. He was a cherished brother to Rodney Weldon (Crystal), Colleen Paswaters (Terry), Teresa Van Roosendaal, Mary Jane Cunningham (Rick), Jeffrey Weldon (Jamie), Connie Anichini (Mario), Bernhard Weldon (Jennifer), loved and adored by his many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Earl Weldon, who surely greeted him there with open arms. He will be deeply missed, and fondly remembered by his many friends and family members. His smiling face brought joy and laughter to every occasion.

As a five year old, Tom said, "Remember, I love you days and nights, and days and nights".
