Wanda Jo Robinson Sisam Smith 1948 ~ 2010 Wanda Jo Robinson Sisam Smith, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, died peacefully on April 28, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Cedar City, Utah on December 12, 1948 to Lawrence LeRoy Robinson and Dorothy Marie Miller Robinson. Wanda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married William Floyd Sisam on January 19, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced. She married Robert Smith December 28, 1985 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had a daughter, Trina Jo and a son Brandon to whom she was very devoted. She grew up in Midvale, Utah and attended Hillcrest High School. She was a warm and giving person, tending children including many nieces and nephews. She was always there sometimes at only a moments notice to come and help out. The children remember her "yellow hands"-- a secret between them about her rubber dish gloves. There were special days they got together to watch "Little House on the Prairie." She cross-stitched something unique for each one. Her homemade lima beans and ham and her favorite color purple were her trademarks. She loved music and played the clarinet in high school. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and cross-stitch. She treasured the friendships she made and had two very special friends, Joan and Karen. Wanda will be missed by her son, Brandon (Meredith) Balmforth; grand-daughters: Brenna and Emery; her sisters: Anita (Dr. Robert) Morrow, Sandra (Rock) Harper and brother, Dan (Amy) Robinson, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tim, daughter Trina Jo and husband Bob Smith. A viewing will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the LDS church at 7000 South and 2700 West in West Jordan, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery. Bye Aunt "Warda".

To Waunita, Sandra, Danny and Brandon,

I was shocked to just learn about the death of Wanda. (May 6th) I'm so sorry we weren't there to support and comfort you. I know we haven't kept in touch that well but do love all of you. Wanda was special. She loved her family and always wanted to stay in touch. I still have a letter she wrote some time ago where she wished we could be closer and get together more. She was so proud of you, Brandon. She was always concerned about mom each time we talked. Sorry again for our loss.

Your cousin

To Brandon and all.....

Wanda and I have been good friends since 4th grade at Union Elementary, I talked to her just last week, she was in pain but was happy to be in her new apartment and was looking forward to the birth of her 3rd granddaughter, she was a very proud grandmother. We shared a lot over the past 50 years or so including the birth of her first child Trina Jo and her death at such a young age in October of 1970. Your mother's life has been filled with sorrow and trials but despite everything she endured, and always had so much love to share, especially for you. She will always be loved and will be greatly missed, not only by me but by my husband who has shared our friendship for the past 45 years. Our love and prayers go out to you.
