1953 ~ 2012
Becky Carlson, lover of the good life and friend to animals, went to a sunnier place Dec.16th, 2012. Beloved for her irreverent humor, Becky's laughter will still resonate in our hearts and memories. Her grandkids will miss her unbridled affection, her family will miss her delicious cooking, and her friends will miss her knack for finding the fun in any messed up situation!
Becky was born in Salt Lake on April 17th, 1953 and attended Olympus High School. Married Brian Carlson 1971 (later divorced). Partner of Winston White, later separated. During her work life, Becky helped run Dr. Grose's famous South Temple clinic, headed a cleaning business and made for a fine sales lady of Feature Films, wireless services and cosmetics. Most recently, she gave her nurturing touch to the elderly as a volunteer for SL County Aging Services. Becky was a friend to all and especially passionate about civil rights and those with disabilities. She was a fierce ally to her gay friends and any marginalized soul. Becky loved vacations at Hanna, R&B music, a saucy tale, and Jazzercise.
Preceded in death by parents Joseph M Smith and Josephine Dickson.
Survived by daughter Manjanique Alexander (Lorenzo), son Justin Carlson (Amy), siblings David Smith (Ann), Michelle Falco (Chris), Nancy Bliss (Michael), Annette Parry (Marlin), grandchildren Vanessa, Zoie, Mason, Emma, Tess, like-sisters Wanda McCray and Lisa Gorder Owens and adored nieces, nephews, extended family, friends past and present, and canine companion Sam.
