Dear Mary Lou and family, We just learned of Bob's passing from the Doyles! Please know how much we appreciated him and the influence he had over our family especially the compassion he showed when our little Danny was so ill! He painted a beautiful picture of him as he would look in a well state which we cherish. We know our loved ones will be renewed and made good again in a better place. We look forward to that day! We love you. Please call or come by and let us know how you are doing.

Mary Lou and family. We are so sorry for your loss. Please accept our families deepest sympathy. Bob is a great friend and neighbor. I remember asking him to help me create some designs for t-shirts for my ship's association. He not only "helped" me, he led me through the whole process to the last detail on his computer program. He was very patient and willing to answer all the questions I had during this very interesting "tour of imagination" through this process. I will always remember Bob as a great friend and neighbor. May the Lord bless your family at this time of mourning.

Mary Lou and family,
I am sad to learn of Robert's passing and send you prayers. He was one of the most influential people in my life, his memory lives on in the portrait he painted of me in airbrush in 1968. I am adding a photo of it and another work that mean so much to me and my family.

So sorry for the loss of a wonderful, caring person; one with an enjoyable outlook. He and his art will be missed.
For those who are not aware, Robert was very knowledgeable and experienced in art. Over the years he worked in graphics, animation, computer graphics, video, as a creative director, art director, in computer printing, photography, illustration, research, training, and of course, teaching.
Some thoughts from his resume: 1)"An artist for all the right reasons and styles for all seasons." 2)"Whatever the mind of man can conceive of, and believe in, he can achieve with a positive mental attitude" Napoleon Hill; 3)"He who teaches, learns"; 4)"Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least"Goethe; 5)"The school of practical experience has contributed to my total professional knowledge"; 6)"Less is more"; 7)"Keep it Simple"; 8)"Begin with the end in mind" Steven Covey.
He sent some photos of his work to me three weeks ago. I treasure them. Thank you Robert. I wish there had been time to learn more from you about your art. Collette

So sorry for your loss. I have admired Robert from school as one of the best artists ever and have followed much of his career from afar always trying to see more of his stunning work...he was so gifted. Gone so young...what a loss...again...so sorry for your loss.

I was thinking of him today. I had no idea he passed. Sorry for your great loss.
A little story Robert came in to my studio during gallery stroll. He introduced himself we talked a bit.
He told me that he painted and also made pottery! And made the Arnold Freiberg prints of Washington in prayer. He was a printer, also
I was having a time with a teapot painting. So I ask him to paint on it. Not knowing a thing of his incredible work.
He showed me some things and how to make and use a paint mull.
He was amazing and so fun to talk to.
Then he read a bunch of gallery strollers handwriting. He was very accurate.
I felt honored to have met him that short amount of time. I feel blessed when I remember and look upon that painting.

Robert teaching Brian Voss

My son, Brian has been taking art lessons for the past 2 years from Robert. Robert has been a wonderful teacher, always thinking up new ways to capture Brian's interest. He gave Brian choices of what to work on and then found a medium or style that Brian could do to learn new things. He spent hours prepping for Brian's projects to teach in just the exact way that could help Brian succeed. He always greeted us with a smile and a joke or a story and we laughed together. He was especially kind to my 7 year old granddaughter, Hailey when she came to lessons while she was off track. He had small gifts for her and let her bounce on the mini tramp and play with his dogs Annie and Rasa. She still quotes some of the things he taught her. One of Brian's favorite paintings was the one he did of Annie and Rasa. Robert often gave us gifts---paintings he had printed for others, art supplies, and roses and grapes from the yard. He put in 100% effort to his teaching. He photographed our family for a Christmas card and spent hours photoshopping a portrait he took of my singing group. Robert was a patient, talented, engaging teacher and friend. We will greatly miss him and offer our condolensces to his family. Thank you, Robert, for being our friend and teacher.
