George H. Hendry Obituary
In Loving Memory
George H. Hendry, 96, died peacefully on December 21, 2015.
He married the love of his life, Doris Ada Clark, May 14, 1939. They had three children, Clark L. Hendry, Sandy, Georgia Lee Hendry-Allen, SLC, and Kristi D. Hendry (Tom) Aloha, OR. George served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he joined the IBEW Local 354 and worked as a master electrician until his retirement. George stayed involved as a union member and was due to receive his 70 year membership award in 2016. In 1956, he became a charter member of the IBEW 354 FCU. Born on St. Patrick's Day, George relished the annual birthday/St. Patrick's day party thrown in his honor. He was always the life of the party and instantly made friends wherever he went. The family would like to thank all of the staff and friends at Pacifica Millcreek assisted living who cared for George over the past few years.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gordon, and his wife Doris. He is survived by his brothers Grant & Gilmer, his three children, five grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
George will be dearly missed; he was one of a kind. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of George's life on Monday December 28th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the IBEW union hall, 3400 W 2100 S SLC.
