BANKER
Cal's life began in Pima, Arizona on 12 July 1927 and ended when he went to be with the Lord on 23 June 2013. His early years were spent playing with his much loved cousins, several of which are still enjoying annual family reunions. The family moved to Phoenix and he spent many years hunting with his dad and studying with his school teacher mother. In his second year of college at Arizona State University he was called to serve his country during the Korean Conflict and then returned to ASU afterwards to obtain his degree. Entering the contracting field, Cal and his wife Barbara, along with Richard Williams, John Sabo, Philip Barnett, Jerry Jensen, Mary Farris and Craig Smith built a successful business for the next 35 years developing the original company into a multistate operation, winning numerous awards for improving the industry. Cal was well liked by his coworkers and customers as being fair and honest in all his business dealings. He was interested in helping his community by supporting many charities. During his fishing days on the Texas Gulf Coast and Mexico, Cal had one "Grand Slam Day" which made up for all the hours of sight seeing. Cal and his wife had one wonderful daughter Kathy. When that daughter grew up and had five children of her own, Cal was the perfect grandfather always so interested in helping them grow into the beautiful happy adults they are today, with children of their own. Cal is survived by his loving wife Barbara; daughter, Kathleen Banker Mask and husband Robert Jr.; grandchildren, Laurie Romney and husband Matt, Amy Liljenquist, Paige Smith and husband Justice, Lindsey Clark and husband Ben, Dr. J.C. Liljenquist and wife Tiana, Bob Mask III, Steven Mask and wife Miranda, Kristian Mask; great grandchildren, Nick, Chloe, Mia and Nate Romney, Josie and Lily Clark, Georgia and Millie Liljenquist, Tatum and Phoebe Smith, Emma Mask; brother, Gary Banker and wife Chauncie; sisters, Pat Williams and husband Richard, Nancy Cottle and husband Dewey, Sue Giles and husband Joe; seven nephews, six nieces; San Antonio Cousins, Ruth Payne, Bill and Jo Ann Falkenburg, Paul and Anne Krause and many loving friends. He is also survived by his award winning 1939 12 Cylinder Packard Touring Car. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ronald Drengler, Gail Hutzler, Terri Martinez, Josh Thompson, of the staff at START Center, also Dr. Robert Schnitzler and Dr. Michael Sarosdy.

Cal fought a valiant battle with cancer for many years. With Barbara lovingly by his side till his last breath, his battle ended and he's now gone to live his eternal life in God's house. But his spirit will live on in our world. We shall always remember Cal as a handsome vibrant man who loved his wife more than life itself. Cal Banker is not a person who can ever be easily forgotten!!
