Hervey Cervantes Obituary
Hervey G. Cervantes was called to be with his Lord on Friday July 13, 2018. He was born in Del Rio, Texas on April 21, 1922. He is preceded in death by his father Epitacio Cervantes and his mother Francisca Gonzales Cervantes. Hervey is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Mary C, their four sons and daughters-in-law, Hervey( Ann), Ruben(Maria Isabel), Richard( Sonja) and Jerry( Letty). Other relatives include eleven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Hervey served in the Army Air Force from Oct. 2, 1942 until Feb. 3, 1946. He worked at Kelly Air Force Base as an Electronics Technician for 31years before retiring on January 3, 1984. Hervey and Mary were active members of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and Hervey was a first degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 9902. Hervey served in many Church ministries and especially enjoyed the Cursillo movement and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Visitation - Wednesday, July 18, 6:00 p.m. in Mission Park Funeral Chapels (North-Cherry Ridge) with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Thursday July 19, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1710 Clower St. , San Antonio, Texas.
Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's been a long time but I have nothing but happy memories of Mr.&Mrs. Cervantes from CYO baseball days at St Mary Magdalen. My dad, Vincent Santos coached the boys; my mom, Alice, ran the concession stand and my brother, Roger, played on teams with Richard, I believe. Many fond memories of the family. When I saw the picture of Mr. Cervantes I knew who it was right away. Your family is in my prayers.
