Ann Caine Clack Obituary
September 19, 1925 - April 13, 2018
Ann Caine Clack passed away on April 13, 2018 in San Antonio, TX following a recent stroke.
Ann was born on September 19, 1925 in Nadawah, Alabama to parents Dr. Vaughn Holmes Caine and Georgia Wood Caine. She married Billie Sunday Clack on September 6, 1946 following his return from service in WWII. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage and traveled the world in their retirement years. Bill predeceased Ann in 2011 in Plano, TX where they lived for almost 50 years. Ann finally said yes to her children's wishes and moved to San Antonio, TX in 2016.
After raising their children and multiple moves across the country with Atlantic Oil Company's seismic exploration group, Ann enjoyed working at The University of Plano and finally with The First National Bank of Plano until retirement. From early adulthood and for the next 60+ years, Ann was a fierce bridge player and at times was a member of 4 different bridge clubs. Ann (and Bill) were long-time members of First Baptist Church of Plano and enjoyed many years of fellowship there. She and Bill reveled in their Plano, TX neighborhood and hosted almost daily cocktail hour parties on their patio. Theirs was the home where the neighbors gathered.
In her later years she enjoyed playing bingo and making new friends at Franklin Park Sonterra in San Antonio, TX. Her birthdays were a cause for big family celebrations and she particularly enjoyed her 90th birthday celebration-- a San Antonio Riverwalk river barge dinner cruise with her family. She was happiest being with family and amazed us daily with her recall of details both recent and long past.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings and husband Billie Sunday Clack; she is survived by son Billy Clack and wife, Carol of Seaford, Virginia; son Johnny Clack and wife, Belinda of Temple, Texas; daughter Marianne Watson and husband, Kyle of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Christopher Clack, Kevin Clack, Courtney Downs (husband Robert), Katie Clack, Matthew Watson and Jenna Watson; great grandchildren Fiona and June Downs.

The family thanks long-time friends Ethel Garvey, Dave & Judy VanDermeer and Chuck & Mary Swensen for their many decades of friendship and love for our Mother, Grandma, Mom Mom and Gigi. The family also recognizes and thanks the outstanding team at Franklin Park Sonterra in San Antonio, TX.
The family will welcome friends from 4-6 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 for a visitation at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St, Plano, TX 75074. A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Plano, 1300 E 15th St, Plano, TX 75074.
