Beverley Freeman was Chief of Nursing at Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital when I was selected as the first full time Women Veterans Program Coordinator in 1992. She was a great mentor, and as she said, "kept me out of trouble" as a newcomer to the VA system in this brand new role. Always professional and understanding she was as one of my greatest role models in nursing. I miss her.
