Billie June Lestourgeon

1935 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
DECEMBER 17, 1935 - AUGUST 9, 2018
Billie June LeStourgeon age 82 of San Antonio passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was born December 17, 1935 in San Antonio to William "Bill" and June (Martin) Taylor. Mrs. LeStourgeon was a graduate of Harlandale High School where she met her husband of 50 years, Shane.

Soon after college, Shane pursued a coaching career, she became a loyal Coach's wife. She maintained a loving home for him and their daughters. She grew passionate about teaching young people, eventually becoming a Teacher at Robert E. Lee High School. When she was not in the classroom, she could be found in the stands on Friday night or at the ballpark supporting the teams Shane coached.

They retired together and in their later years, "Mimi" and "Pawpaw" enjoyed traveling to the Coast with family. If you couldn't find Mimi in their garden picking tomatoes, she could be found with Pawpaw on their boat catching trout and redfish. No matter what she was doing family was always the centerpiece of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shane LeStourgeon and her daughters, Lezlie Calandres and Lesa Garcia. Mrs. LeStourgeon is survived by her daughter, Luann Cohen and her husband, Dan; her sons-in-law, Roger Calandres, John Garcia and Steve Hamman; her grandchildren, Ryan Hamman and his wife, Bailey, Jennifer Calandres, Cory Hamman and his wife, Taylor, Alissa Garcia and Christopher Garcia; her great granddaughter, Campbell Hamman; her sisters, Barbara Wright and Linda Goode; her sister-in-law, Mary Kinkel and her husband, Jack; her long-time companion Warner Lanford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family is very appreciative of the care offered by her caregiver, Edna.
