Dixie Ann Crosby Obituary
January 29, 1943 - May 11, 2018
The Lord decided that He had shared His precious angel, Dixie Ann Crosby, with us long enough. On Friday, May 11, 2018, he called her to His heavenly home. A visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, with a recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The pallbearers will be John Crosby, Patrick Crosby, Jimmy Berchelmann, Stephen Berchelmann, Bob Hardenstine, and Sam Kelley.

Dixie was born on January 29, 1943 in San Antonio to Theodore and Dorothy Crosby. A devoted daughter, she was a caregiver to her mother, who lived many years to the age of 96. Her father had passed years before at the age of 84. Dixie was a beautiful, kind lady who provided an abundance of love to all. She graduated from Providence High School and held a long career in the business world, with the last 23 years spent at USAA. In her younger years, children could always count on Aunt Dixie to be up for any activity, including swimming, fishing, board games, etc. Basically, anything you wanted to do as a child, she was ready to do. She look forward to our intimate Christmas gatherings with a cheerful, gleeful heart. She especially enjoyed hosting the large Easter parties, where relatives travelled from near and far to reunite. An avid Spurs fan, she attended a Spurs game in January, in really good seats provided by John Crosby.

Dixie loved to travel and was visited many corners of this Earth. Deeply involved with her spiritual family at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (SEAS), she was a volunteer extraordinaire. This was demonstrated by the many groups she engaged in at SEAS, including, but not limited to the ACTS group, Young at Heart, and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. She was invested as a Lady into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

She is survived by sister-in-law, Laurine Crosby, who was her chief caretaker in her later weeks of her Earth journey; her nieces, Laura and Lisa Crosby; her grandnephew, John Crosby; and her almost sister cousin, Christy Crosby Berchelmann. Also, survived by Tony and Mary Crosby, Michael and Kay Crosby, along with many cousins and sister in law Maria Crosby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore E. Crosby; her mother, Dorothy Crosby; and her brothers, Theodore J. Crosby and Thomas Crosby.

The family would like to express gratitude towards the many members of her church family, neighbors, and friends who supported her physically, emotionally, and spiritually in the last few weeks of her journey. Spiritually, thanks for all the prayers, rosaries and the Divine Mercy Ceremony held the day prior to her passing. Thanks for the flowers, food, and the best emotional support of all, chocolates.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank at SEAS, Allied Women's Center, 102 Marshall St., San Antonio, TX 78205 or a .
