Forrest Venable Fitzhugh was born in San Antonio. He was the eldest son of James Venable and Eloise Holman Fitzhugh.

His maternal grandparents were Addie Alston deGraffenreid and Jesse Burette Holman, of Weimar, Texas, and his paternal grandparents were Ara Agnes Venable and Olin Minos Fitzhugh, of San Antonio.

He was proud of having graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1956. He went to Trinity University and earned his B.A. in psychology and philosophy in 1960. Upon graduation, Forrest attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1963. He became an ordained Presbyterian minister on November 10, 1963. In addition to his career as a minister, Forrest went on to earn both his Master's and his Doctorate degrees in psychology and he became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Forrest was proud of many organizations to which he belonged during his life. He was brought up in Madison Square Presbyterian Church and eventually became the oldest attending member there.

Forrest is survived by his first wife Nance Jane Lindsley Fitzhugh, and their children, James Jonathan (wife Jennifer) and Kerri Colleen. He is also survived by his wife Natasha Ostanina Fitzhugh, and their son Ilya Liam. Forrest has five grandchildren: Seth and Emma Fitzhugh, Keegan, Jack and Charlie McQuin.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
at Porter Loring.
