October 27, 1944 - February 6, 2019
Gilberto Martinez Sr., born October 27, 1944, went to be with our Lord on February 6, 2019, at the age of 74. Gilberto was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He is reunited in heaven with his wife of 47 yrs, Frances Martinez; parents Macedonio and Prudencia Martinez; son, Adrian Martinez; siblings Juan Martinez (Anna) and Evangelina Ramos. Gilberto will live on in the hearts of his children Diana Rubio (Gerardo), Gilberto Martinez Jr. (Ruby), Robert Martinez, Celia Martinez, Michael Martinez (Lisa), James Martinez (Lisa), and Steven Martinez (Evelyn); 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings Mary Villarreal (Joe), Consuelo Rodriguez (Robert), Raul Martinez, Yolanda Martinez, Albert Martinez (Pat), Rudy Martinez (Maribel), and Gloria Martinez. Visitation will be at Castillo Mission Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 5pm-9pm. A celebration of Gilberto's life will start at 10 am on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Castillo Mission Funeral Home. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
