Jame Laddie Mathis Rakun Obituary
1944 - 2017
Jame was born in 1944 to Captain James Laddie Mathis and Edna Marie Howard in San Antonio, TX. She passed peacefully in her sleep on the 27th day of December. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Rakun, their three children, Tracey, Tabitha and Lee, and seven grandchildren, Hillary, Cassandra, Brittany, Reagan, Alexis, Madeleine and Barret as well as her brother, Bruno Knopp.
Jame was a member of many historical organizations, including the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Order of the Black Rose Society and San Antonio Conservation Society, and she was a proud descendant of President John Tyler. Her lineage is traced back to the early 1500s in England, Scotland and Ireland on both of her parents' sides.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who gave of herself without hesitation. Never one to meet a stranger, Jame was highly cherished among all who knew her for her sage advice, big personality and gracious spirit. She lived her life with a full heart and a passion for everything and will be remembered for her warm laughter, beaming presence and faith in the Lord.
