Jose M. Garcia, born in San Antonio, Texas on December 26, 1944; went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2018 at the age of 73. Joe served his country in the United States Army and in the Army National Guard. He was a kind, strong and loving man. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years Oralia G. Garcia, his parents Sabino and Loretta Garcia, in laws Carmen and Frank Cruz and Simon Guerra, siblings Felix Garcia, Santiago Garcia, and Maria Stewart and brother in law Robert Guerra. Survivors include his loving daughters Cynthia Garcia and Laura Garcia, sons in law Joe Contreras and Chris Bianez, and granddaughters Sophia Hope and Amber Grace Kakar. He will also be missed by his siblings, Elodia Astran, Juanita Ruiz, Jesus Garcia, and Josie (Fina) Franco, and his sisters in law Delia Gonzales, Andrea Garcia, Herlinda Meneses and Rachel Avila, and brothers in law Bernard Cruz, Ernest Cruz and Adolfo Cruz. He has numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with a procession from the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
