Juanita Pearl Christensen, 91, passed away August 7, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. She was born April 22, 1927, in Stanchfield, MN to Lloyd and Hattie Schaeffer. She attended Braham High School and Northwestern College in Minneapolis. She married George Christensen on June 12, 1948. They bought a diary farm in Minnesota and started raising their family. In 1956 they moved to San Antonio, TX and opened Texas Washing Machine Service. Juanita served as office manager until they closed the business in 2016.

As a young woman she believed Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, that He died for her sins and arose again. This personal faith was the guiding source for her life. In the 1960's George and Juanita joined with families to establish Wayside Chapel where Juanita served and encouraged the care and support of numerous missionaries worldwide. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 15, at Wayside Chapel, 1705 Northwest Loop 410, San Antonio, TX. Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Kenedy, TX. Nita was predeceased by her husband of 69 years George; son Gary and daughter-in law Ruth; her parents; eight siblings Dorothy Schaeffer, Hazel Lillicrop, Melba Dahlin, Violet Storck, Laura Dahlin, Gertrude Johnson, Harold Schaeffer, and Byron Schaeffer. She is survived by sons Greg (Doris), DelRay (Aldeane), and Robyn (Linda); daughters Georgine and Pauline (Steve) Patrick; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Julia Miller, Calvin (Ann) Schaeffer and Ramona Fredin.
