Juanita T. Rodriguez

1931 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
August 20, 1931 - May 14, 2018
Juanita T. Rodriguez, age eighty-six, passed peacefully with her family by her side on May 14, 2018. Juanita was born in Bishop, Texas to Rosa Scott and Francisco Torres. She grew up in Carrizo Springs, Texas and later resided in San Antonio, Texas. In 1951 she married her brother Robert's best friend, Louis C. Rodriguez. Upon marrying they moved to San Antonio and created a wonderful life for their three children. Juanita was talented and a hardworking woman. Working retail was her illustrious profession. Every summer wherever her family worked as migrant workers, Juanita would always find work in a local retail store. In middle school in the home making class, she picked up her sewing talent. She made dresses, prom dresses, curtains, and tablecloths. She especially enjoyed making alter tablecloths for her parish Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes. After moving to San Antonio, she became an icon at Joske's Department store. That was her pride and joy! She worked in the china department and then moved on up to the furniture department. She became a first-place salesperson, received executive training to be a leader in her department and was frequently sought after for her interior decorating skills. She certainly made a name for herself over a period of more than thirty years. In her retirement, she was a member of the Joske's 100 club. She was a woman of extraordinary grace, poise, dignity, beauty, and talent. When describing her, one would say that she was a beautiful perfectly accessorized stature of a woman. She is truly irreplaceable. We love you and will truly miss you. Enjoy reuniting with Dad and Shotzie in Heaven. She is preceded in death by our father, her husband of sixty years, Louis C. Rodriguez. Juanita is survived by her three children, Leticia Rodriguez (Robert), Ceasar L. Rodriguez (Mary Carmen), Marysa Ramon (Roland); Six grandchildren (her pride and joys): Cassandra Rodriguez, Roberto L. Rodriguez (Kara), Cesar Rodriguez, Andrez Rodriguez, Roel Ramon, Juliana Ramon. Her newest joy, the birth of her first great granddaughter, Acelynn Rodriguez. She is also survived by her sister, Amalia Muñiz from Chicago, Illinois and two brothers Thomas Castro and Julio Castro from Carrizo Springs, Texas. Mom will be with her numerous family members and friends. The last pew (Mom's seat) at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Helotes for the Saturday evening mass will never be the same. The beautiful lady who sat in the corner of the last pew will be forever gone from there, but never forgotten!

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Mission Park North from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Mass will be held the following morning beginning at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
