Lafe Williams, long-time Kansas resident, passed away on July 17, 2017. Lafe spent most of his life working as a journalist: a newspaper reporter, a television newscaster, and finally for the most years, a news announcer at KCMO Radio in Kansas City.

In addition to his work in journalism, Lafe worked in public relations at Park College. After retiring, Lafe and his wife moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1998.

Lafe was an active member of the Community of Christ Church, serving in the priesthood and serving as pastor at one time. He attended the Shenandoah congregation here.

Lafe is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Highfill Williams, his son Kim and his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Wayne Talcott. He has four grown grandchildren, Kimmie and Eric Williams, and Matt Talcott (with wife Marcella) and Jon Talcott (with wife Bonghwa.) Great grandchildren include Lafe, Maxine, and Theo Talcott. Also surviving are Lafe's brother, Earl Williams of Blue Springs, Missouri and his sister Judy Rockey of Atchison, Kansas.

Services will be 10:30 Saturday, July 22 at the Community of Christ Church, 11910 Vance Jackson. Visit funeralcaringUSA.com for additional information and to leave condolences.
