September 5, 1928 - January 3, 2019
Leila B. Powell Rodriguez passed away on January 3, 2019. She was born on September 5, 1928 to James K. Bartlett and Agnes D. Bartlett. After graduating from Edison High School, she attended Trinity University.

Following World War II, she married a returning veteran, Warren H. Powell. She and Warren had a blessed marriage of over 50 years before his death. Leila lives in the memories and hearts of her daughters, Nancy P. Organ (Michael) of Lexington, Tx and Carolyn P. Jackson (Tommy) of Giddings, Tx.

She is fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, Michael Organ, Jr. (Leslie) of Bastrop, Tx, Rodney Organ (Michelle) of Dripping Springs, Tx, Jennifer Organ Smart, MD (Scott) of South Carolina, Rebecca J. Savois (Jeffrey) of Katy, Tx, Randy Jackson (Jill) of Katy, Tx and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, Frances Hill and Janice Gold.

Later in life, Leila married WWII veteran, Robert Cruz Rodriguez, a wartime Big Band music director. She is preceded in

death by her parents; her husbands, Warren and Robert; and her sister, Alice Joyce.

Leila is best remembered as a nurturing person who was caregiver for many people in her lifetime. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
