Leslie Eugene (Les) Duerler passed away October 28, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was born January 29, 1930 in San Antonio and retired after 38 years employment in telecommunications with SW Bell and AT&T. He was a member of Telecom Pioneers, Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO, the Retired Members Club CWA Local 6143, AFL-CIO and formerly a Deacon in the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sportsman. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Duerler, and parents, Gene and Edna Duerler. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; son, Michael Duerler and wife Sheila; daughter, Linda Finch; grandchildren, Jessica Duerler, Julie Cordero, Leslie Squires, Jon Duerler; numerous great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2004 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Riggs Road in Helotes, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Responsible Pet Owners Alliance, 900 NE Loop 410, No. 205-D, San Antonio, TX 78209.
