Maria Del Refugio Lara Jimenez passed away on July 3, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on October 29, 1934 in Crystal City, Texas to Jose Juan Lara and Maria De Jesus Fernandez Lara.
She had a Loving and Enduring marriage of 64 years. As an older adult she graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Throughout their married years, she and her husband owned and operated three small Neighborhood Grocery Stores, two in Pearsall Texas and one in San Antonio with a successful Accounting and Bookkeeping Business. Her clients included several local churches, local and out of country businesses, private individuals, also family and friends and neighbors. She was a Past President of the St. Leonard's Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Founding Member of the Original "Lucky 12" Neighborhood Bunco Club for more than 40 years which still exists today.
She was an Avid Quilt Maker, making them at home for her family members and also with St. Leonard's Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and with the "Lucky 12". She was fun loving and pleasant and cordial to everyone she met. She Loved to entertain at home, hosting family dinners along with numerous birthday parties, holidays and whenever she had the inclination to enjoy Life. And she believed in the Perfect Order of the Universe always quoting "Everthing has its place". Mrs. Jimenez was preceded in death by her sister, Olivia Acosta; and her brother, Juan Jose Lara.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Pablo Cavazos Jimenez; daughter, Anna L.J. Diaz (Edward); son, Paul R. Jimenez; sisters, Elvira Galvan, Obdulia Bendele and Theodora Yolanda Stoll; grandchildren, Adrien R. Jimenez, Adam R. Jimenez and Edward Paul Diaz; great-granddaughter, Jordyn Jimenez; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm at Brookehill Funeral Home. A procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 9:15am, with a 9:45am Funeral Mass at St. Leonard's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
