Rudy S. Martinez entered eternal rest on November 16, 2018 at the age of 93. Rudy Martinez was a veteran of World War II and proudly served in the United States Army. Rudy worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 33 years as a Civil Service employee. Rudy was a devoted and active church member of Pollard Memorial Methodist Church, where he was involved in the men's group and Boy Scout group. Rudy Martinez was preceded in death by his wife Alice P. Martinez; daughter, Ruth Sotello and son Alfred Martinez; parents, Pedro Martinez and Marcelina Sosa Martinez; sisters, Janie Rodriguez, Esther Valdez, Irene Valdez, Cecilia Sandoval, Hope Guerrero and Agnes Martinez; brothers Pedro Martinez, Raymond Martinez. He is survived by his children, Rudy Martinez and wife Diana, Phillip Martinez and wife Veva, Elizabeth Finnegan and husband Hugh, Roger Martinez and wife Shryl, Esther Martinez, Marcus Martinez and wife Kristina; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. /donate. Services will be held on Tuesday,. December 04, 2018 at Roy Akers Funeral Chapel (515 N. Main Ave.); visitation from 9:00am to 11:00am, Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am-12:00pm, with interment at 1:00 pm at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
