Sra. Cuquita Wilton Vda. De Luna 'La Reina del Microfono' went to be with the Lord, July 29, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Mrs. Wilton was born in Fabens, Texas to Florentino and Concepcion Esteffano. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years Manuel Luna and is survived by her daughters; Leticia Luna Cisneros (Ricardo), Mary Wilton Craig (Charles), stepson Manuel Luna Jr. in Mexico City and stepdaughter Lucia Luna Trevino (Jesus), eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilton was a popular radio personality, and ambassador to Mexico, representing the state of Texas during the era of President Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico. She worked with Jose Olivares Sr. and Munuel Leal at K.I.W.W. radio station, which later became K.C.O.R. and worked with Raul Cortez, Emilio Nicolas and Carlos Garcia, Rosita Fernandez and Rita Vidauri as Chencha Pomada in the radio program Club De Hogar. She sang exclusively for the Pearl and Lone Star Brewery Companies and at the Seven Oaks Country Club and at the Alameda, Nacional and Zaragoza Theaters and at the Municipal Auditorium on special occasions with Eddie Martinez. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association; 7400 Louis Pasteur, San Antonio, Texas. Services Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home, 624 North Alamo. A Funeral Procession will depart Alamo Funeral Home Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery II. Alamo Funeral Home.
