Marie Swartz Obituary
Marie Frank Swartz, age 78, of San Antonio, died Sunday, August 23, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Arnold (Pic) Swartz of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Mimi Swartz and husband, John Wilburn of Houston, TX; sons, Jeff Swartz and wife, Alison of Charlotte, N.C, and Ed Swartz and wife, Nancy Hood of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Sam Wilburn, Paul Swartz and William Forrester Swartz; brother, Stanley Frank and wife, Adrien of San Antonio, TX. A beautiful force of nature who loved her husband, family, community and the art she created. Mom was equally happy helping to build the most recent version of the San Antonio Public Library or setting up her Facebook page with her grandson Sam. Everyone was welcome in her home, and became a part of the family. She loved learning new things, could fix a computer by long distance and was even willing to read up on health care reform. She was a person of great substance, never stopped being a part of the world, and was never one to give up a fight. All our love, Mom. We will miss you. Gayle and I were sorry to hear about Marie's passing. Although we did not know her well, we both were enchanted by her personality and we were very glad to have had the chance to know both of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our hearts are with you at this difficult and sad time. Marie was always a breath of fresh air. She was always interesting and interested in the world and people. Her soul was a dear one and she cerainly left her very special mark in our memories.

Pic, I just learned of your loss. Please accept our condolences and pass this on to your family. I first met Marie at High School Socials we had in those days and I thought she was one of the most beautiful girls I had ever seen. Her eyes were the most captivating thing I remember. When I found out she had married, I wondered what kind of guy she might find acceptable. I soon found out when were stationed together at Randolph. I enjoyed those days when we could all get together and just have fun.
