Larry Zimmermann Obituary
March 6, 2015
Heaven is buzzing with excitement over the new fellow who arrived there Friday, March 6th, 2015. Larry Zimmermann, a farmer at heart and a true man of the land, passed to Glory while working on the job. He was a strong man with big calloused hands who could fix anything and he truly loved The Lord. Larry's signature style was to wear his pants inside his boots and his grandkids took to wearing theirs the very same way their "Popo" did. Larry's contagious laugh, quirky ways and old wives tales could bring anyone to tears. A Del Mar College graduate, Larry was a licensed master plumber and also had a Class A air conditioning license. Larry left his mark on several notable buildings in San Antonio while working for A.J. Monier as a mechanical foreman. The Bank of America Plaza, the Pyramid Building and USAA Towers just to name a few. Later, he and his wife Pati started Zimmermann Service Co. and Blue Frog Plumbing and Drain who are still serving customers today. Larry taught his boys a strong work ethic. All his sons followed him into the construction industry proving his apples didn't fall far from the tree. Larry loved his grandkids and during family get togethers you could find this big man sprawled out on the floor next to a perfectly good couch with his grandkids jumping all around him.
Larry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pati Jo; his mother, Mary Agnes Yosko Zimmermann, four sons: Danny and his wife April, Matthew and his wife Cassie, Joshua Zimmermann and Luke and his wife Jessica. Six grandchildren survive: Briley Underbrink, Cade Matthew, Ethan Daniel, Sophia Grace, Asher Troy and Emma Rhyse Zimmermann will miss their "Popo" dearly. In addition, three siblings survive: William Charles Jr.(Bill) and wife Joann and Jimmie Dean Zimmermann and his wife Debbie and sister, Sharon Janice and her husband Howard Anthony. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at First United Pentecostal Church, 350 Utopia Ln. San Antonio, Texas 78223. The Homegoing will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 13th at First United Pentecostal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Church Building Fund at the address listed above.
