Ann Marie Cofrancesco Obituary
Ann Marie Cofrancesco Poway It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ann Marie Cofrancesco. Ann was born in Auburn, New York, June 22, 1930, and was one of two children born to Ferdinand and Angelina of Naples and Bari, Italy. After graduating, Ann married her sweetheart, Joseph Cofrancesco, and shortly after, began raising a family in upstate New York. Ann spent her early years as a homemaker and developed her skills in fine Italian cuisine, design and singing, while taking care of her family. Her husband, Joseph, started a furniture business in Port Byron, NY with his sister and brother. In 1955, they moved the family to California and opened Eastside Maple Furniture Shop in San Bernardino, and in 1975 moved to Poway and opened North County Furniture. When the children were grown, Ann assisted in the family businesses. Ann supported many charities and community organizations. She was a member of the Poway Bocce Club and served as a council member. She was also a member of the Sons of Columbus. In her mid-years, Ann was a volunteer for the Poway Center for the Performing Arts and gave unselfishly of her time to other charitable organizations. Ann is remembered by all who knew her as a kind, thoughtful, sweet, caring, gentle, faith filled and passionate woman, who loved her family. She was always so happy taking care of everyone. She made being a mother look easy. She enjoyed cooking and baking and in true Italian fashion, was happiest if you would sit down with the family and share a meal. She made every holiday and family event very special and always cooked up a storm. Ann also loved vacationing in Cabo every year with family and friends. She had a natural flair for fashion, which was apparent in her vibrant attire. People who knew Ann loved her beautiful, calm spirit and her heart-warming smile. Her daughters pray that the beautiful memories of their mother will help ease their pain as they move forward. They will forever hold her dear in their hearts. She was an angel on earth and they were blessed to have her as their mother. She was a devoted mother whose spirit of strength, support and counsel will be greatly missed by each one of her family members. Heaven is now rejoicing because her soul is home with the Lord.Ann leaves behind her daughters, Rita Cofrancesco of Poway, Sara and husband Jim Cowell of Yucaipa, Elaine Cofrancesco and husband Roger Nedrow of Rancho Bernardo; grandchildren, Aaron Cowell of Oregon, Jonathan and wife Melissa Cowell of Carlsbad, April and husband Robert Ghionzoli of Escondido, Amber Cofrancesco of Poway, Brandon Cofrancesco of Poway; great-grandchildren, Lilia and Lawrence Cowell of Carlsbad, Hazelyn Cofrancesco of Poway, Ashley and Dylan Ghionzoli of Escondido; and many other relatives.Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Ann Cofrancesco's life at St. Michael's Church in Poway, on September 21, 2018.
