Bonnie Daniels Gardner July 21, 1941 - August 10, 2018 San Diego Bonnie Daniels Gardner passed away on August 10, 2018, at the age of 77 years. She was born in Hawaii, where her mother Helen Arnold Daniels was a renown Hawaiian artist. Her father was Ret. Captain James G. Daniels III, US Navy, who served through World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. She graduated from Coronado High School and received a Bachelor's degree from George Washington University. She went on to work with the Peace Corps and in customer service for the insurance industry becoming an Asst. Vice President and an active member of LICOMA. She married Thomas Gardner on October 8, 1977, and was a devoted spouse till the end. On February 8, 1981, she became sober for the rest of her life and found comfort in Alcoholics Anonymous where she dedicated herself to helping others remain their sobriety. She retired in 1996, shortly after she became a legal guardian of Tom's granddaughter, Tiara. She volunteered at Curie Elementary School's Rolling Readers and Safety Patrol and consulted for Creative Memories where she leaves a lasting legacy of a life filled with gardening and travel throughout her 45 scrapbooks. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Gardner, his daughter, Lisa Gardner; granddaughter, Tiara Gardner; grandson, Sammy Garcia; brother, James Morris Daniels; and nephew, James Ryan Daniels. Memorial donations in memory of Bonnie can be made payable to Alzheimer's San Diego, 6632 Convoy Court, San Diego, CA 92111.
