Darla Ann Staley

1955 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Staley, Darla Ann SAN DIEGO -- Darla Ann Staley, born in San Diego, California on December 8, 1955, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2014 with her beloved son, Shawn Staley, brother Michael Dudas, and longtime companion Charlie Laskowski by her side. Darla was an amazing woman. She loved her family deeply and could be counted on by her friends. She adored her grandsons, Trentyn and Tyler, and traveled coast to coast often just to spend as much time with them as possible. She was both playful and practical. She had many gifts, especially in working with computers and performing home repairs. Darla wasn't afraid to try new things. She was a rare woman in the male-dominated machine shop world and earned the respect of everyone one she worked with along the way. For much of the past two decades she worked for Butler America as a computer programmer designing parts of Sikorsky helicopters. She was proud of the work she did and greatly admired for her skills. Darla was a fighter. She took on cancer with a vengeance and did everything in her power to heal her body. Her determination and optimism served as a great example for us all in how we should face any challenge. We will all miss Darla very much but we find great peace in knowing that her pain and suffering is over. We are also comforted to know that she is dancing in heaven with her mother, Beverly. Heaven is an even sweeter place now. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the college funds for her beloved grandsons, Tyler and Trentyn Staley. Checks can be made out to Michael Dudas and sent to PO Box 784, El Cajon, CA 92022. Please indicate "Tyler & Trentyn" on your check.
