David Alan Estey Obituary
Oceanside David Alan Estey passed away Sunday July 29, 2018 at the age of 57 surrounded by his family. David was born in Alexandria, VA in 1961 to parents Col. Ralph Estey and Lorraine (Reid) Estey. He grew up as the youngest of 4 and graduated from Vista High School. David worked for the Vista Unified School District for 24 years as a grounds keeper and took pride in marking the ball fields for the various sporting events held at the schools. He enjoyed gardening and took on the task of revitalizing the irrigation system at his mom's home. David loved to cruise and often was his mom's cruising buddy. After almost 50 years in Vista CA, David had the opportunity to move to Sutter Creek, CA and did so, quickly becoming part of his Sutter Terrace Community. David is survived by his brothers, Mark (Coleen) Estey of Sutter Creek, CA. and Brian (Laura) Estey of Roseville, CA, sister Susan (Jim) Prietto of Laguna Niguel, CA; nephews David (Neika) Estey, Michael (Sarah) Estey, Simon Estey and Noah Estey, nieces Kimberly (Patrick) Freeberg and Gabrielle Estey; grandnephews Elijah Nixon and Bryson Estey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Ralph and Lorraine Estey along with his brother, Peter Eric Estey.A Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel. Inurnment will take place at Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery in Oceanside.Memorial contributions should be made to National Shrine of St. Jude/The Claretians, 205 W.
