Eva Dawson Obituary

Eva Elizabeth Dawson March 27, 1945 - June 27, 2018 Vista Eva Elizabeth (Watson) Dawson passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2018 after a courageous and graceful twenty-one-year fight with Parkinson's disease. Her family was with her when she passed. If you knew Eva, you will remember her by her laugh, sense of humor, and her love of games (especially Bridge). She tried to teach her family how to play, but none of us wanted to lose to her. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Paul Dawson, her two children, Terri Long and Brian Clow, as well as five loving grandchildren. Eva was a CPA by trade but retired due to Parkinson's after working as administrator for her church, First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside for many years. She loved socializing and being around people. One of her daughter's favorite memories was New Year's Eve parties where you could find friends and family hanging out in the living room playing Charades and laughing hysterically. Her son knew growing up that their home was always where all his friends could come and be welcomed for food, fun, swimming, and laughing. Eva was born in Bremerton, Washington in 1945 to Annie and "Malc" Watson. She was the middle daughter between two sisters, Martha and Carol. She was also a loving aunt to six nieces and nephews. She grew up in Poulsbo Washington, attended North Kitsap High School, and then traveled and worked in Alaska and Europe before arriving in San Diego. She was a National University graduate.Eva will always be loved and remembered as a vivacious and fun-loving woman who cared deeply for those around her. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Presbyterian Church Oceanside on Saturday, July 14, 10 am.

Eva and I at the Coliseum 1967

August 26, 2019

Dear Terri and Bryan - you may not remember me but your mom and I became friends in college, she joined me in Fairbanks and we lived in Germany together. In fact I'm the one you're named for Terri. We lost touch several years ago and I was thinking about her today and very sadly found this. I'm so sorry for your loss! She was a lovely person and I have so many wonderful memories of our years together. And I still have so many pictures of her when we were young and you were children.
