My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time. I had known Gordie from the early 80's when he was at Pauma Valley CC. I enjoyed playing golf with him and also catching up with him at the paddox area at Del Mar. He was an awesome gentleman with a warm heart, a great smile, a great competitor and had a passion for teaching the game of golf. He will be missed by many.

Gordy was a great friend and mentor. I was fortunate enough to have learned some of my most valuable lessons in life and in golf from a great teacher and person. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in his family. He will be greatly missed.

I've lost the most insightful teaching professional, academic or athletic, I've ever known. Gordy excelled at listening, and then, converting one's problems into a learning experience - be it golf or life. I'm better at both because of him.

Gordy was a man bigger than life. We will always remember his stories of golf and horses and when speaking of them, the way his smile and laughter would light up his face. As a golf professional, his patience, positive support, humor and ability to understand our individual strengths, allowed us to be our best in the game of golf. We miss you Gordy, you were the best. Your love of the game will carry on with us forever.

Gordy had a profound knowledge of the game of golf. He had mastered the art of imparting his knowledge with skill and patience. We considered ourselves very fortunate to have known and admired this uncommonly talented man.
Thanks for the memories Gordy!
