Herman Poggemeyer Obituary
April 22, 1919-April 2, 2007
Herman Poggemeyer Jr., 87, of Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of San Diego, died Monday. He was born in Leavenworth, Kan., and was a retired major general in the Marine Corps. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Claudine Poggemeyer; son, Frederick Poggemeyer of Dallas; and sister, Gretchen Dinsdale of Grand Island, Neb.
Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Trinity United Methodist Church, 301 Marine Blvd., Jacksonville, N.C.
Interment: after services, Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Point Road, Jacksonville, N.C.
Arrangements: Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville, N.C.
