Oh Miller, I miss you and Russ so much sometimes it hurts. Thank you for being the light you were, and helping me through our loss. You two are still hooting in the big tree in my yard, so I know it´s going well. Much love to you, only the good die young

I worked for "OATS aunt Jenny" in the early 1980s training tech associates. I learned so much from her, that work and about life, and she helps me raise my son in so many ways. She had more vigor for life than anyone I´ve ever known. I´ve been trying to find her for the last several years because I owe her a great big thanks. She saved my life, quite literally. I wanted to thank her for the profound things she did and made my life a gift. I´m so sorry to find that she´s gone already. My son found her on this page as we were talking about her tonight at dinner. Obviously, we´ve never forgotten her and we never ever will. I hope there´s a great camp in Heaven for her, and if not, she´ll probably start one. We love you, Janny.

I never got to forge a friendship with you, Janathin, since we lost our mutual friend and soul-mate Russ before we barely had a chance! But I can see you up there, dancing together, and hope to take spin with you when I'm done here. I'm going through your wonderful New Zealand pictures today - it looked fun! Love and blessings to you...

Doc, hardly a day goes by without thinking of you. I still maintain a folder on my computer, filled with nuggets, that has your name on it.

Jan, Carol et al ,
It's me again. I can't seem to get over that you are gone - I think because you really aren't - you are still with us on a higher plane. I do miss you. I'll keep the candle going for you, & will keep your wisdom with me. Peace & Love, Susie ☮♀♀

Dr. Miller, I wish I had the opportunity of meeting you an eternity ago but for the short time I did know you... You ignited a candle in my heart as I was navigating my future. You taught me so much in the short time and shown me how to create my own legacy. Now I am a proud student of CSUSM and founder of my own Nonprofit. Thank you ♡

My relationship with Janathin was based on our mutual love for Veterans and their families. It was this relationship that led to the creation of the Veteran Business Consortium and the nonprofit Team Veteran Foundation, Inc. Janathin had an effervescent personality that caused me to nickname her the Hummingbird on Speed. When I received the call on Veterans Day 2015 that the Hummingbird had crossed over I felt I had lost a very dear friend and committed Veteran advocate. I also learned during that call she loved her nickname and was very proud being the Hummingbird on Speed.

Jan,
You were always bigger than life. We followed each other from Westchester Co. (Dobbs Ferry & Hastings-on-Hudson) N.Y. to Ithaca College, Cornell U. & then both ended up in San Diego. You had a big heart & incredible energy. You are missed. R.I.P.

I'm still trying to grasp this... Dr. J. it was a joy and an adventure working with you. I'm going to miss the laughing and joking and the let's get the job done. You didn't miss a beat and the one thought that keeps this sadness even acceptable is you're with your father once again. Love you.

Although my memories of past joys meeting and getting to know you "way back when," I always recall our brief meetings being full of spontaneity, laughter, and curiosity...and your capacity to teach me more about myself in so many ways. God bless. Diane Kohanek

Jan, Vivian, and I grew up together in Dobbs Ferry, neighbors and friends; trublemakers together. We then scattered to all ends of the continent (California, Boston, Toronto), and after a number of attempts to get together later in life, we finally did so in March 2014, enjoying a lovely weekend with Janathin and Carole in San Diego.

I had the pleasure of co-founding her final Antin business and working with her. Janathin was a big thinker, a problem-solver with a tremendous heart. A great mentor and friend.

I have vivid memories of Janathin, the bigger-than-life, generous, energetic dynamo who ruled the halls of Dobbs Ferry High School, NY. Everybody loved Jan & wanted to be around her! She was clearly a special person, destined for greatness. And that's exactly what she accomplished - greatness. Though I only saw her a few times over the years, whenever I did, I was quickly reminded that she remained the same amazing soul and then some - sharing her great big heart and boundless energy with everyone whose path she crossed. I feel honored to have known her and, like so many others whose lives she touched, will miss her.

It was with a deep sense of shock and deep sadness that I read of Janathin's untimely passing. She touched many lives. Inevitably we lost contact as she moved her light on to fresher and more immediate pastures.I last saw her about five years ago. I was able to reiterate my gratitude to her for her support in my formative years in San Diego. I am forever indebted to her for opening her big heart to me and my family at a very difficult time in our lives. I was able to remind her of the untold individuals whose lives she had touched and enhanced. Most of all we laughed heartily at some of the situations in which we had found ourselves in our heyday. We shall not see the likes of Jan again. I doubt if there is any other San Diego personality who is instantly known by her first name which derives from the Hebrew, " The Lord has Given". Whatever your belief, your creed or your spirituality might be, one thing is irrefutable: We were given a great gift in Janathin, and her light, far from being dimmed, will shine even brighter as a presence always to be felt. To Carole, Lil, Meg and the extended family one's heart aches for them, and thanks them for sharing this dynamo of love and kindness with us over the years.
