Joan DeForest LaClair

1930 - 2015

Joan DeForest LaClair LA MESA -- Joan DeForest LaClair passed away July 19, 2015, at home after a long illness. Joan was born February 23, 1930, in Raymond, WA, daughter of L. V. and Josephine DeForest. Her family moved to Olympia,WA in 1946 where Joan completed high school. She attended Washington State College (University) for two years. There is where she met her future husband William "Bill" LaClair. They married in 1951. Over the years her husband's employment took them to eleven locations on the West Coast. They have lived in La Mesa for the past 34 years. Her brother, Russell DeForest, and sister, Janet Rockey, preceded her in death. Survivors are husband, Bill LaClair, daughter, Janis LaClair-Thomas, son, Jeff LaClair, granddaughter, Lauren LaClair, grandson,Grant LaClair, son-in-law Mark Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca LaClair. Celebration of Joan's life will be held Sept. 19th at the LaClair home.
